Hefei University of Technology (HFUT), located in Hefei, the capital city of Anhui Province, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of China. Founded in 1945, HFUT has a long history of providing high-quality education and conducting cutting-edge research in various fields. HFUT is one of the universities of Project 211 and Program 985 innovation platform in China, and also one of the universities included in the list of “Double First Class” plan, the country’s construction plan of world-class universities and first-class disciplines.
I Program Introduction
HFUT has established cooperation relations with more than 120 overseas universities. In order to further strengthen international exchanges and cooperation, HFUT provides Exchange Student Program for international students in accordance with the student exchange agreements signed between HFUT and overseas universities (home university). Exchange students can choose to attend major courses to get credits, or conduct lab research work under the guidance of professors at HFUT.

III Duration
One semester (from March 1, 2026 to July 30, 2026)
One year (from March 1, 2026 to January 31, 2027)
IV Eligibility
1. Be registered as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at home university and remain enrolled throughout the entire exchange period;
2. Applicants are expected to have an overall academic performance at or above average;
3. Applicants should possess good Chinese or English proficiency;
4. Applicants must obtain a nomination from their home university before submitting their application.
V Fees
1. Tuition: Nominees from partner universities are entitled to tuition fee waiver as agreed in the partnership agreement.
2. On-campus accommodation: 2000 RMB/semester
3. Comprehensive medical insurance: 400 RMB/semester

VIII Application Procedures
1. Home university selects students to HFUT.
2. Home university sends nomination letter to HFUT by December 31, 2025. (See Appendix 4: Nomination Letter Template)
3. Nominees finish the online application on HFUT application portal: http://admission.hfut.edu.cn by January 15, 2026. For the program type, please choose “Exchange Program” - “Undergraduate Exchange Program”, “Master Exchange Program” or “PhD Exchange Program”.
The following documents will need to be uploaded when applying.
(1) Copy of passport biodata page
(2) Studentship certificate officially issued by home university
(3) Academic transcript issued by home university
(4) Language proficiency certificate (those participating in courses taught in Chinese need to provide HSK 4 or above; others need to provide IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 85 or Duolingo 100. Not required for native speakers)
(5) Supervisor’s acceptance letter (if applicable, see Appendix 5: HFUT Supervisor’s acceptance letter)
(6) Personal Statement; (Refer to Appendix 6 for the given template)
(7) Foreigner Physical Examination Form (valid for 6 months, refer to Appendix 7 for the given template)
(8) Non-criminal record report (Issued within 6 months before the submission date of application)
Note: If the above-mentioned materials are in languages other than Chinese and English, notarized English translations must be provided.
4. HFUT will decide the admission list based on the review of application materials and the opinions of professional schools, and issue admission notice, Confirmation Form for Study in China, and other admission materials according to the admission procedures.
5. Admitted students will start studying at HFUT in early March 2026. Please refer to the Admission Notice for the specific registration date.
