Hefei University of Technology held a graduation ceremony for international students graduating in 2022 on July 16. Vice President Zheng Lei attended the event and awarded graduation certificates to them.
In his speech, Zheng Lei expressed his congratulations to the graduates on their successful completion of the study, and wished them a full, brilliant and valuable life in the future. Zheng Lei told them that, no matter where they go and where they are, their alma mater will always be a warm harbor and a solid supporting base for them. He expressed his hope that the students will inherit the traditions of Hefei University of Technology, firmly adhere to the notion of lifelong learning, never stop learning after returning home, always pursue excellence, and make contributions to their own motherland with what they have learned for the benefit of their compatriots.
The vice president said that the 5,000-year history has bred brilliant Chinese civilization. When international students come to China for study, they become witnesses of the Chinese values and strength, which they also experience personally. He emphasized his hope that as the graduates have learned the spirit, morality and vision of the Chinese nation, they could spread actively the knowledge and stories of China to more people in their own country, play a positive role in promoting exchanges and cooperation between the countries in the world and do more for the construction of a global community with a shared future for mankind.
At the ceremony, Liu Xinbao, assistant president of the university and executive vice dean of the Graduate School, passed souvenirs to the graduates. Han Jianghong, dean of the International Education College, offered his farewell wishes in his speech. Gu Dongxiao, a professor from the School of Management who has given consultant guidance to international students for more than 10 consecutive years, delivered a goodbye speech on behalf of supervisors.
As representatives of the international graduates, African student Sivahe, Azerbaijani student Gunai and Japanese student AI Songen expressed their heartfelt gratitude at the ceremony to China, to the university and to the teachers for their patient teaching and timely help.
Attending the event were leaders of relevant departments of the university, representatives of international student supervisors, all faculty members of the International Education College, and family members and friends of the international graduates, as well as the graduates. The ceremony was presided over by Hu Mengjie, vice dean of the International Education College.
